Are You Aware The New Child Care Subsidy Changes Impact On Parental Leave Too?

The new Child Care Subsidy changes come into effect on 2 July 2018. To access the Subsidy, families will be assessed on the following 3 factors:

1. The combined family income

2. The activity level of parents (including work, study or volunteering)

3. The type of childcare services used

Importantly, employees currently on parental leave are considered as undertaking a recognised “activity” which is the same as it was immediately prior to starting their leave.

Even if parents are currently receiving a Child Care Subsidy, they still need to submit an online form.

Failure to complete the form could halt future payments.
